Product Description

IFI16 also known as IFNGIP1 is a member of the HIN-200 (hematopoietic interferon-inducible nuclear antigens with 200 amino acid repeats) family of cytokines. IFI16 plays a significant role in immune response, particularly in viral DNA recognition, which is essential for initiating appropriate immune reactions. IFI16 is primarily localized in the nucleus, functioning as a transcriptional regulator and participating in gene expression modulation in response to interferon signaling. Nuclear localization of IFI16 enables interaction with various transcription factors and chromatin, influencing expression of genes critical for immune defense. IFI16 forms complexes with other proteins, such as myeloid cell nuclear differentiation antigen (MNDA), further highlighting IFI16′s importance in immune response regulation.
