Product Description | |
M-cadherin also known as Cadherin 15, CDH15 is a member of the cadherin family, which plays a significant role in cell adhesion and communication, particularly in skeletal muscle development. M-cadherin is primarily located at the cell membrane, where M-cadherin facilitates homophilic interactions between adjacent muscle cells, thereby contributing to the structural integrity and function of muscle tissue. M-cadherin expression increases during myoblast differentiation when myoblasts fuse to form myotubes, indicating M-cadherin′s essential role in muscle cell maturation and regeneration. M-cadherin′s unique extracellular domain, which consists of five subdomains, allows for specific binding interactions that are vital for maintaining muscle architecture and function. |
