Product Description

DNA-PKcs also known as XRCC7, DNAPK, PRKDC is a critical component of the DNA-dependent protein kinase complex, DNA-PKcs plays a crucial role in the repair of DNA double-strand breaks (DSBs) and is essential for V(D)J recombination, a process vital for the development of immune diversity. Located in the nucleus, DNA-PKcs forms a heterotrimeric complex with Ku proteins, which are responsible for recognizing and binding to DSBs, thereby facilitating repair processes. Proper functioning of DNA-PKcs is critical, as defects can lead to severe consequences, including increased sensitivity to ionizing radiation and impaired DNA repair mechanisms, which are associated with various genetic disorders and cancers.
