Product Description | |
CDCP1 also known as CD318 plays a crucial role in cellular signaling and is involved in processes such as cell adhesion and migration, which are vital for tissue repair and cancer metastasis. CDCP1 is primarily located in the plasma membrane, where three extracellular CUB domains facilitate interactions with other proteins and extracellular matrix components, thereby influencing cellular behavior in response to environmental cues. CDCP1 is highly expressed in metastatic colon and breast tumors, making CDCP1 a significant marker for hematopoietic cells and a potential target for therapeutic interventions. Phosphorylation of CDCP1 by Src family kinases at specific tyrosine residues, including Tyr 734, enhances signaling capabilities, which can impact the progression of epithelial wounds and tumorigenesis. |
