Product Description | |
SLP-76 also known as LCP2 is an adapter protein that acts as a substrate of the T cell antigen receptor (TCR)-activated protein tyrosine kinase pathway. SLP-76 plays a pivotal role in T cell receptor signaling and is essential for the activation and development of lymphocytes, making SLP-76 a critical component in the immune response. Located primarily in the cytoplasm of T cells, SLP-76 interacts with various signaling molecules, including the adapter protein GRB2 and phospholipase C gamma 1 (PLC γ1), facilitating the transmission of signals that lead to T cell activation. The presence of multiple SH2/SH3-binding domains within SLP-76 allows SLP-76 to serve as a scaffold for assembling signaling complexes, which is vital for the propagation of signals that culminate in cellular responses such as cytokine production. |
