Product Description | |
SATB1 is a matrix protein which binds nuclear matrix and scaffold-associating DNAs through a unique nuclear architecture. SATB1 plays a crucial role in regulating gene expression, particularly during cell development and differentiation. SATB1 is primarily expressed in thymocytes and contains a unique homeobox DNA-binding domain essential for DNA interaction. SATB1′s structure includes an additional domain exhibiting high affinity for DNA, allowing specific binding to nuclear matrix attachment regions (MARs) of DNA. These MARs are critical for organizing chromosomal loops and regulating transcription and replication within the nucleus. SATB1′s interaction with MARs is vital for maintaining genome structural integrity and ensuring proper gene expression, making SATB1 an important factor in cellular function and development. SATB1′s ability to synergistically interact with other transcriptional repressors, such as CCAAT displacement protein (CDP), further underscores SATB1′s significance in mediating complex gene regulatory networks. |
