| Product Description | |
Rac2 is a member of the Ras superfamily of small guanosine triphosphate (GTP)-metabolizing proteins. Rac2 plays a crucial role in regulating various cellular processes, particularly in myeloid cells where Rac2 is predominantly expressed. Rac2 is essential for the proper functioning of the NADPH oxidase complex in neutrophils, which is responsible for generating reactive oxygen species that are vital for the immune response against pathogens. Rac2′s ability to interact with other proteins, such as GTPase-activating proteins (GAPs), is significant as these interactions modulate Rac2 activity by accelerating GTP hydrolysis, thus influencing signaling pathways. Given specific expression in myeloid cells and role in immune responses, Rac 2 serves as an important target for research into immune function and related disorders. |
