Product Description

GATA-1 is a member of the GATA family. GATA-1 is essential for transcriptional regulation of erythroid-specific genes, thereby influencing red blood cell development. GATA-1 function is vital for proper hematopoiesis, and dysregulation of GATA-1 can lead to various blood disorders, including anemia and other erythroid lineage-related diseases. GATA-1 is characterized by a conserved zinc finger DNA-binding domain that allows binding to the WGATAR consensus sequence, which is critical for gene regulation. GATA-1 interacts with other GATA family members, such as GATA-2 and GATA-3, which have broader regulatory capabilities, indicating a complex network of transcriptional control within the hematopoietic system.
