| Product Description | |
EAAT3 also known as SLC1A1 is a member of the high-affinity glutamate transporters that play an essential role in transporting glutamate across plasma membranes. EAAT3 activity contributes to neurotransmitter clearance, synaptic signaling homeostasis, and neuronal vulnerability to oxidative stress through glutamate-dependent pathways that intersect with cysteine uptake and glutathione synthesis. In human tissues, EAAT3 is linked to neuronal and epithelial transport processes and has been studied in the context of altered excitatory neurotransmission and cellular stress responses. Genetic and expression changes in EAAT3 have been associated with neuropsychiatric and neurodevelopmental phenotypes, motivating mechanistic studies of transporter regulation and downstream signaling. |
