Product Description

REDD1 also known as DDIT4 plays a crucial role in cellular response to stress, particularly in regulating reactive oxygen species (ROS). By modulating ROS levels, REDD1 is essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis and preventing oxidative damage, which can lead to apoptosis and contribute to pathogenesis of ischemic diseases. Notably, REDD1 is an HIF-1-responsive gene significantly upregulated in hypoxic conditions, particularly in neuronal cells, highlighting REDD1′s importance in adaptive responses to low oxygen levels. This makes REDD1 a valuable target for research into neuroprotection and ischemic injury, as well as a potential biomarker for various diseases associated with oxidative stress.
