Product Description

BAF155 also known as SMARCC1 is a member of the SWI/SNF family of proteins, whose members display helicase and ATPase activities and which are thought to regulate transcription of certain genes by altering the chromatin structure around those genes. BAF155 is part of the large ATP-dependent chromatin remodeling complex SNF/SWI and contains a predicted leucine zipper motif typical of many transcription factors. BAF155 functions as part of a core that includes Brm, Brg-1, and Ini1, which together facilitate remodeling activity. BAF155 interaction with these ATPase subunits enhances the remodeling process, influencing transcriptional activation. BAF155 involvement in various cellular processes, including differentiation and development, makes this protein a significant target for studies related to gene regulation and chromatin dynamics.
