| Product Description | |
IL-1α also known as IL-1alpha, IL1A is a member of the interleukin 1 cytokine family. IL-1α plays a vital role in the immune response and inflammation. IL-1α is primarily produced by activated macrophages and is crucial for mediating the body′s response to infection and injury. IL-1α is predominantly located in the cytoplasm of cells, where IL-1α is synthesized and stored in an inactive form. Upon cellular activation, IL-1α is released into the extracellular space, where IL-1α can bind to the IL-1 receptor and initiate a cascade of inflammatory responses. This localization allows for rapid release and action during immune challenges, making IL-1α a critical player in the regulation of immune responses, including the activation of T and B lymphocytes and natural killer cells. |
