| Product Description | |
Atg16L1 also known as IBD10, Atg16 is part of a large protein complex that is necessary for autophagy, the major process by which intracellular components are targeted to lysosomes for degradation. Atg16L1 exists as a homooligomer and interacts with APG5, underscoring Atg16L1′s importance in regulating autophagic processes. Atg16L1′s localization to both cytoplasm and peripheral membranes further emphasizes Atg16L1′s functional versatility, as Atg16L1 participates in various cellular processes, including chromatin assembly, cell cycle control, and vesicular trafficking. Multiple isoforms of Atg16L1 arise from alternative splicing, adding another layer of complexity to Atg16′s regulatory functions. |
