Product Description

BACH1 is a transcription factor that belongs to the cap'n'collar type of basic region leucine zipper factor family (CNC-bZip). BACH1 plays a crucial role in regulating gene expression by acting as a transcription factor. BACH1 is particularly important in the cellular response to oxidative stress, as BACH1 can repress the expression of antioxidant genes when bound to Maf proteins. BACH1′s ability to form heterodimers with other proteins, such as MafK, allows BACH1 to modulate transcriptional activity, which is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and responding to environmental changes. Understanding BACH1 function is essential, as dysregulation of BACH1 has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer and cardiovascular disorders.
