Product Description

EED(Embryonic ectoderm development) is a member of the Polycomb-group (PcG) family. EED plays a crucial role in gene expression regulation through involvement in Polycomb-group (PcG) complexes, which maintain transcriptional repression of target genes across cell divisions. This function is vital for cellular memory, allowing cells to remember their identity and maintain stable gene expression patterns during development and differentiation. Human EED protein is highly conserved, sharing 99.5% identity with its mouse counterpart, and features seven WD repeats that facilitate protein-protein interactions, underscoring importance in multiprotein complex assembly. EED interacts specifically with histone deacetylase (HDAC) proteins, highlighting a role in chromatin remodeling and gene silencing.
