| Product Description | |
PRG2(Proteoglycan 2) also known as MBP, EMBP, BMPG is the predominant constituent of the crystalline core of the eosinophil granule. PRG2 plays a significant role in the immune response. PRG2 is primarily located in eosinophils, which are white blood cells involved in combating parasitic infections and mediating allergic reactions. The presence of PRG2 in eosinophils is crucial for their cytotoxic activity against helminths and contributes to the pathophysiology of various allergic diseases. Additionally, PRG2 is known to interact with other proteins, such as pregnancy-associated plasma protein A (PAPPA), angiotensinogen (AGT), and C3dg, particularly during pregnancy, where it forms complexes that may influence immune responses. |
