| Product Description | |
PXR(Pregnane X Receptor) also known as NR1I2 is a member of the nuclear receptor superfamily. PXR plays a crucial role in the regulation of gene expression by acting as a sensor for a wide range of endogenous and exogenous compounds, including steroids and drugs. Located primarily in the nucleus, PXR functions as a transcription factor that, upon binding to ligands, forms a heterodimer with retinoid X receptor (RXR) and subsequently binds to specific DNA sequences to modulate the expression of target genes involved in drug metabolism and transport. This localization enables PXR to directly influence cellular response to various substances, thereby playing a significant role in pharmacogenomics and the body′s ability to process medications. |
