| Product Description | |
Rab11A also known as YL8 is a member of the Rab family of small GTPases that regulate intracellular vesicle trafficking, particularly in the recycling endosome pathway. Post-translationally modified by prenylation through geranylgeranylation at C-terminal cysteine residues, Rab11A requires this lipid modification for proper membrane association and function in vesicle formation, movement, and fusion. These post-translational modifications are crucial as they facilitate Rab11A′s localization to specific membrane compartments, influencing essential cellular processes such as receptor recycling, cytokinesis, and maintenance of cell polarity. Dysregulation or mutations affecting Rab11A or its post-translational modifications can lead to disruptions in cellular trafficking pathways, contributing to various diseases. |
