Product Description

SIN3A is a transcriptional regulatory protein that plays a crucial role in the regulation of gene expression, particularly in cell proliferation and differentiation, by functioning as a corepressor in transcriptional regulation. SIN3A interacts with the Mad family of proteins, which are essential for the repression of target genes when bound to the Myc-Max heterodimer. This interaction helps maintain the balance between cell growth and differentiation, preventing uncontrolled proliferation that can lead to tumorigenesis. SIN3A contains four conserved paired amphipathic helix (PAH) domains, which are important for interaction with Mad proteins, specifically through the second PAH domain (PAH2). By tethering SIN3A to DNA, the Mad-Max heterodimers effectively repress transcription, highlighting mSin3A′s importance in cellular processes and potential implications in cancer biology.
