Product Description | |
Stat6 is a member of the STAT family of transcription factors. Stat6 plays a crucial role in mediating interleukin-4 (IL-4) signaling effects, which are essential for T helper cell differentiation and immune response regulation. Upon IL-4 binding to its receptor, Stat6 undergoes phosphorylation, leading to dimerization and nuclear translocation, where Stat6 activates transcription of genes involved in immune regulation and inflammation. This process is vital for Th2 cell development, which helps combat extracellular pathogens and contributes to allergic responses. Stat6′s ability to modulate gene expression in response to cytokine signaling highlights its importance in both normal immune function and pathological conditions, such as asthma and other allergic diseases. |
