Product Description

STC1(Stanniocalcin 1) is a crucial peptide hormone that plays a significant role in calcium and phosphate homeostasis, which is vital for various physiological processes, including bone health and cellular signaling. STC1 is primarily secreted by the kidneys and has been shown to exert anti-hypercalcemic effects, counteracting elevated calcium levels in the bloodstream. Notably, STC1 is phosphorylated in vitro by protein kinase C, which may influence activity and interactions with other proteins. In addition to calcium regulation roles, STC1 has been implicated in various pathological conditions, including adrenal tumors, where STC1 is co-expressed with STC2, which has opposing effects on calcium levels.
