| Product Description | |
LCN2 also known as NGAL is a protein that belongs to the lipocalin family. LCN2 plays a crucial role in immune response, particularly in inflammation. LCN2 is primarily located in the extracellular space and is secreted by activated neutrophils and epithelial cells, especially during inflammatory conditions. LCN2 presence in the extracellular environment allows interaction with various ligands, including bacterial products, which can modulate immune responses and promote tissue repair. LCN2 has been implicated in iron homeostasis regulation and has shown binding to iron, suggesting a protective role against oxidative stress. LCN2′s ability to act as a scavenger for bacterial products highlights importance in anti-inflammatory processes, making LCN2 a valuable target for research in inflammatory and neoplastic diseases. |
