| Product Description | |
LRP5(LDL receptor related protein 5) is a transmembrane low-density lipoprotein receptor that binds and internalizes ligands in the process of receptor-mediated endocytosis. LRP5 plays a crucial role as a Wnt coreceptor, facilitating the binding of Wnt ligands to their receptors and thereby regulating the canonical Wnt signaling pathway, which is essential for various biological processes, including cell proliferation, differentiation, and bone development. LRP5 is expressed in the tibia of rats in regions associated with bone remodeling, highlighting its importance in skeletal health. Mutations in LRP5 can lead to the autosomal recessive disorder osteoporosis-pseudoglioma syndrome (OPPG), underscoring LRP5′s significance in maintaining bone mass and integrity. |
