| Product Description | |
MRP1 also known as ABCC1 is a member of the superfamily of ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters. MRP1 plays a crucial role in cellular detoxification and the efflux of a wide range of substrates, including drugs and endogenous compounds, thereby contributing to multidrug resistance in cancer cells. MRP1′s function is particularly important in the context of chemotherapy, as overexpression of MRP1 can lead to reduced drug accumulation within cancer cells, ultimately resulting in treatment failure. MRP1 is an integral membrane protein that is predominantly expressed in various tissues, including the brain, lungs, and testis, as well as in peripheral blood cells, highlighting MRP1′s significance in both normal physiology and pathological conditions. |
