Product Description

GDF8(Growth differentiation factor 8) also known as Myostatin, MSTN is a secreted ligand of the TGF-beta (transforming growth factor-beta) superfamily of proteins. GDF8 plays a crucial role in regulating skeletal muscle growth by inhibiting myoblast proliferation and differentiation, making GDF8 a significant factor in muscle development and homeostasis. This negative regulatory function is particularly important in the context of muscle wasting conditions, where elevated levels of GDF8 can contribute to muscle atrophy. Understanding GDF8 mechanisms is vital for developing therapeutic strategies aimed at combating muscle degenerative diseases and enhancing muscle regeneration.
