| Product Description | |
NRG1(Neuregulin 1) also known as SMDF is a membrane glycoprotein that mediates cell-cell signaling and plays a critical role in the growth and development of multiple organ systems. where NRG1 is involved in regulating cell migration, differentiation of neural crest and Schwann cells, and upregulation of acetylcholine receptors at muscle fibers during neuromuscular junction formation. NRG1 gene produces multiple splice variants, each with unique structural features and functions, contributing to diverse roles in neural development and synaptic plasticity. NRG1 has been implicated in various neurological disorders, including schizophrenia, highlighting NRG1′s importance in both normal physiology and disease states. Multiple isoforms of NRG1, characterized by EGF-like domains and varying glycosylation patterns, underscore the complexity of regulatory mechanisms and interactions within the cellular environment. |
