Product Description

TMPRSS2 also known as PRSS10 is a protein that belongs to the serine protease family. TMPRSS2 plays a crucial role in regulating extracellular matrix components, which is vital for processes such as tumor growth and metastasis. TMPRSS2 features several important structural domains, including a serine protease domain of S1 family, a scavenger receptor cysteine-rich domain, an LDL receptor class A domain, and a transmembrane domain, which collectively contribute to enzymatic activity and functional versatility. TMPRSS2 exists in both full-length form and cleaved protease domain, with expression upregulated by androgenic hormones, indicating potential involvement in prostate carcinogenesis.
