| Product Description | |
CD229 also known as SLAMF3, LY9 is a Type I membrane glycoprotein that plays a critical role in the adhesion processes between T lymphocytes and accessory cells through homophilic interactions. This interaction is essential for effective immune responses, as CD229 facilitates communication between immune cells, thereby influencing cytokine production and cytotoxic activity of lymphocytes and natural killer cells. CD229 interacts with the SAP/SH2D1A protein, which is significant for the regulation of immune signaling pathways. CD229 expression occurs on mature B cells, T cells, thymocytes, and natural killer cells, highlighting CD229′s importance in the immune system′s functionality and response to pathogens. |
