Product Description

HSP47 also known as CBP1, SERPINH1 is a crucial molecular chaperone that plays a significant role in the biosynthesis of collagen type I. HSP47 is predominantly located in the endoplasmic reticulum of cells that produce procollagen, where HSP47 assists in the proper folding and assembly of collagen molecules, ensuring their structural integrity and functionality. HSP47′s location is essential for the secretion of procollagen from these cells, thereby influencing the extracellular matrix formation and tissue repair processes. Additionally, HSP47 acts as a stress response molecule, sequestering abnormal procollagen following cellular insult, which highlights HSP47′s protective role in maintaining collagen homeostasis.
