| Product Description | |
CTPS1(CTP synthase 1) also known as GATD5, CTPS is an enzyme responsible for the catalytic conversion of UTP (uridine triphosphate) to CTP (cytidine triphospate). CTPS1 is primarily located in the cytoplasm, where CTPS1 facilitates the availability of CTP, a critical building block for RNA synthesis and cellular energy metabolism. CTPS1 regulation is complex, involving various post-translational modifications, including phosphorylation by protein kinase C, which can modulate CTPS1 activity and influence cellular responses to growth signals. Notably, the gene encoding CTPS1 is situated on chromosome 1, a region frequently implicated in the progression of several cancers, highlighting CTPS1′s potential involvement in tumorigenesis and making CTPS1 a significant target for cancer research. |
