Product Description

DTYMK also known as dTMP kinase, CDC8 is a 212 amino acid enzyme that plays a crucial role in pyrimidine metabolism by catalyzing the ATP-dependent conversion of deoxythymidine monophosphate (dTMP) to deoxythymidine diphosphate (dTDP). This conversion is vital as dTDP serves as one of the four nucleotides necessary for DNA synthesis, thereby making DTYMK essential for cell cycle progression and growth. Notably, DTYMK expression peaks during the S phase of the cell cycle, underscoring its importance in DNA replication and cellular proliferation. The ability of DTYMK to regulate nucleotide availability directly impacts cellular functions, including DNA repair and replication, which are critical for maintaining genomic stability and preventing diseases such as cancer.
