| Product Description | |
Angiomotin also known as AMOT is a 1,084 amino acid protein belonging to the motin family of angiostatin-binding proteins, characterized by conserved coiled-coil domains and PDZ binding motifs at their C-termini. Angiomotin is primarily expressed in skeletal muscle and placenta, where Angiomotin localizes to the cell surface at tight junctions, playing a crucial role in maintaining these structures. Angiomotin′s interaction with angiostatin is vital for angiogenesis, as Angiomotin promotes tubule formation and enhances the migration of endothelial cells in response to growth factors. This function underscores Angiomotin′s potential as a key player in tumor angiogenesis, making Angiomotin a promising therapeutic target in cancer treatment. |
