| Product Description | |
Evi-1 also known as MECOM is a transcriptional regulator and oncoprotein that may be involved in hematopoiesis, apoptosis, development, and cell differentiation and proliferation. Evi-1 plays a critical role in regulating gene expression and cellular differentiation, particularly in hematopoietic cells. Evi-1′s structure features two zinc finger domains, which are crucial for function; the second zinc finger domain is essential for the transactivation of the c-Fos promoter and activation of the AP-1 transcription factor complex. The first zinc finger domain interacts with Smad3, inhibiting activity and thereby suppressing TGFβ signaling, which is vital for maintaining normal cellular functions. |
