Product Description

BAF170 also designated SMARCC2 is a member of the SWI/SNF family of proteins. BAF170 plays a vital role in regulating gene expression by altering nucleosome structure in an ATP-dependent manner. BAF170 within the complex is essential for remodeling activity, interacting with other core subunits such as Brg-1 and Ini1 to enhance overall SWI/SNF complex function. This interaction enables precise regulation of transcriptional activation, critical for various cellular processes, including differentiation and response to environmental signals. BAF170′s involvement in chromatin remodeling underscores BAF170′s importance in maintaining cellular homeostasis and potential implications in cancer biology, where dysregulation of chromatin remodeling can lead to aberrant gene expression.
