Product Description

MRP3 also known as ABCC3 is a member of the superfamily of ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters. MRP3 plays a crucial role in the cellular export of organic anions, particularly in the liver, where MRP3 is predominantly expressed at the basolateral membrane of hepatocytes. This localization is significant because MRP3 facilitates the transport of various endogenous and exogenous compounds, including drugs and metabolites, from the liver into the bloodstream. MRP3 expression regulation is particularly important in the context of drug resistance, as MRP3 levels can increase when the function of other transporters, such as MRP2, is compromised.
