Product Description

NAT10(N-acetyltransferase 10) is a nuclear protein that belongs to the UPF0202 family and features a single N-acetyltransferase domain, which is believed to function as a histone acetyltransferase. NAT10 plays a key role in regulating telomerase activity, particularly in response to DNA damage, where NAT10 is upregulated to facilitate genotoxic resistance and DNA repair processes. NAT10 has a high affinity for the promoter region of the TERT gene, which encodes the telomerase reverse transcriptase, thereby stimulating telomerase production. This multifaceted role suggests that human telomerase complexes are not limited to specific functions but rather engage in a variety of critical cellular processes, highlighting NAT10′s importance in maintaining genomic stability and cellular longevity.
