| Product Description | |
BMAL1 is a basic helix-loop-helix protein that forms a heterodimer with CLOCK. BMAL1 plays a crucial role in circadian rhythm regulation by forming a heterodimer with Clock protein, which then binds to promoter regions of target genes such as mPer1. This interaction maintains the body′s internal clock, influencing physiological processes including sleep-wake cycles, hormone release, and metabolism. Disruptions in BMAL1 function can lead to circadian rhythm disorders and have been linked to metabolic syndromes and other health issues. Additionally, BMAL1 belongs to a larger family of transcription factors including aromatic hydrocarbon receptor (AhR) and nuclear translocator proteins (Arnt 1 and Arnt 2), which are essential for ligand-dependent activation of genes involved in detoxification processes. |
