VEGF Receptor 2(VEGFR2) also known as CD309, FLK1 is a pivotal receptor tyrosine kinase that plays a fundamental role in angiogenesis, the process by which new blood vessels form from existing vasculature. By mediating the effects of VEGF ligands, VEGFR2 regulates endothelial cell proliferation, migration, and survival, making it essential for both normal physiological processes such as development and wound healing, as well as pathological conditions like cancer, where angiogenesis supports tumor growth and metastasis.
