Product Description

Cdc4 also known as AGO, FBW7, FBXW7, FBX30, SEL10 is a member of the F-box protein family which is characterized by an approximately 40 amino acid motif, the F-box. Cdc4 plays a crucial role in cell cycle regulation by targeting cyclin E for ubiquitin-mediated degradation, preventing uncontrolled cell proliferation. Cdc4 recognizes a protein that functions in the nucleus, participating in SCF (SKP1-cullin-F-box) ubiquitin ligase complex formation, essential for phosphorylation-dependent ubiquitination. Mutations in Cdc4 have been implicated in ovarian and breast cancer cell lines. Seven tandem WD40 repeats in Cdc4 enhance substrate interaction capabilities, highlighting Cdc4′s importance in maintaining cellular homeostasis and preventing cancer progression.
